Indonesian (Bahasa Indonesia) — Komponen kalimat dan kelas kata (Concepts of sentence components and parts of speech)
Indonesian is a 10-part-of-speech system in which verbs are often derived with prefixes/suffixes (me-, di-, -kan, etc.). Adjectives modify nouns from after the noun and directly fill the predicate position, and the plural is expressed through word repetition (reduplication).
Concepts and example sentences for the 10 parts of speech (parts of speech)
Verbs are often derived with prefixes/suffixes without inflectional change (e.g., bermain, sudah bermain). Adjectives (cantik) modify nouns from after the noun or become predicates by themselves. Numeralia and the pragmatic marker class Partikel are recognized as separate parts of speech.
